Documentation needed for those traveling
from the United States
On the French embassy page it states:
"Visitors must have ready for presentation at the border documentary evidence
of the purpose of the visit, means of support for the duration of the
stay and accomodation arrangements."
Make sure you bring along your hotel receipt to present to customs
upon arrival in France if they ask! The last couple of years none of us were asked at
customs for any type of documentation, but it they randomly decide to single
you out, it's a good idea to have it on you!
We've all seen movies as to what can happen if you don't! Yikes!
On the customs form where it says "reason for visit", you can simply say "tourism"
as you are not part of any official registered tour agency...
